Clean and comfortable room.
I was disappointed by the lukewarm starter and undercooked pizza. The breakfast coffee was unappetizing, and it left a sour note on my stay. Despite the good service, those dining issues overshadowed the experience.

I had a fantastic stay at The Merchants Yard. The staff greeted me warmly upon arrival, offering a much-needed welcome drink. The room felt immaculate, with a stunning bathroom and unique skylights that let in fresh air. The complimentary fridge stocked with water was a nice touch, especially after a long travel. I enjoyed the super comfy bedding and the beautiful furnishings. Breakfast was a treat, with a private dining vibe that made it feel special. the dim lighting in the room made it a bit challenging to read at night. The restaurant experience could use a bit more attention as the service was a tad slow during dinner. Despite this, the food quality was fantastic. I would happily return again for the inviting atmosphere and exceptional hospitality.

A delightful stay in a cozy village
I recently enjoyed a stay in a lovely Superior Double Room. The bed was incredibly comfortable, and the modern bathroom featured both a rainfall shower and a separate tub. The breakfasts were a highlight, cooked fresh by a friendly chef, while the evening meals offered great options including a fantastic three-course menu. The staff went above and beyond to make us feel welcome. My only recommendation would be to improve the parking situation for larger vehicles.

The location facilitated easy access to the Peak District, complemented by an allocated parking space. The Superior Double or Twin Room was beautifully decorated, featuring a luxurious rainfall shower and extensive bathroom amenities. Breakfast was expertly cooked to order by a delightful chef, and the dining options were impressive, offering both fixed-price and à la carte meals. Several staff members, particularly Gemma, demonstrated exceptional service, enhancing our experience further.

We loved the spacious room with beautiful decor and absolutely devoured the unbelievable food at the hotel! The sun terrace was a perfect spot for relaxation, alongside the cozy leisure room. Just a heads-up, the bedside lamps could've been a bit brighter for late-night reading, but it didn't really impact our stay. 😊

Couples, Recommend it for a special weekend
The staff at this place went above and beyond! We got a complimentary drink right when we checked in and honestly, it made all the chaos of our day melt away. Plus, that breakfast? It was cooked to order and the chef was a charming Scotsman who actually seemed to care about our experience.
It didn’t come cheap, but in the end, worth every single penny.
